40 pieces of random

This is my 40th post, so I'm going to give you 40 random facts about myself. I've seen people do this with their 75th and 100th posts...I don't know if I could come up with that many.

1. I love the rain. "It's like rain on your wedding day" I used to wish for that.

2. I love tuna fish sandwiches, only when my mom makes them. She has the perfect mayonnaise/tuna ratio...and it's on thick whole wheat bread. I can't eat them made by any other person.

3. Every time I clean the bathroom, or change the sheets I feel like it should be acknowledged. I don't feel that way about other household chores, just those. I always say something to Treavor like "we have two of the cleanest bathrooms in America" or "are you so excited to sleep in your fresh clean sheets?"

4. When I brush my teeth my left hand is always on my hip, just like my mom, and I think even her mom.

5. I love to chat with almost anyone.

6. Foods I'm loving lately: Oreos, jr. mints, oatmeal with vanilla yogurt and strawberries on top, home made sticky chicken finger salad.

7. I am an extrovert. I would very very very rarely choose to be alone over having company.

8. If someone gave me a hunk of cash to do anything i wanted with, I might get laser hair removal. I DREAM of never shaving my legs again.

9. I love Spring Summer and Fall equally. I only care for Winter Dec. 15th-30th.

10. When I'm supposed to sit still, I start to itch. In almost any given church meeting my back will be itchy in an unreachable spot.

11. I have always wished I was African American.

12. One of my favorite things is sleeping with the window open. ESPECIALLY if it's raining.

13, I always notice peoples hands. I can think of anyone I know, and picture their hands. I love that people's hands match their face in a way...weird I know.

14. I love heat. Fires, hot chocolate, heating pads, hot tubs, laying in the sun for hours on end...

15. My all time favorite movie is Return to me.

16. I'm not a perfectionist in anyway, I'm usually quite satisfied if I complete something at all.

17. My favorite book is To Kill a Mocking Bird. I used to want to be friends with Scout.

18. I'm claustrophobic. Sometimes I have to crawl under our bed to get stuff, Owen threw under and I DREAD it! My hands sweat and I can't breath.

19. I put butter on my poptarts. Can't eat them any other way.

20. I love learning about people. The way we think, why we behave certain ways etc. I'm constantly analyzing.

21. I'm SO not a dog person, but happen to love my dog.

22. I love to go to bed early, but always stay up late.

23. A lot of times, I first pick out my shoes, and then the outfit.

24. My toenails are ALWAYS painted. They kind of look like they belong to a man when they aren't.

25. I would take an old house over a new one almost any day. I love the squeaky floors, the cozy tightness, the charm...

26. I am a city girl, big time.

27. I really enjoy cooking.

28. I really hate ironing and am really bad at it. Treavor does his own ironing and usually mine too. For that I am sorry.

29. I'm so awful, terrible, horrible, and scared of math.

30. I kind of like going to the dentist. That clean feeling is worth it to me.

31. My husband is more romantic than I am.

32. Awkwardness is so funny to me. watching or listening about awkward situations cracks me up.

33. I love buying little things...lip gloss, hand sanitizer, those little packages of tissues, candy, hair accessories.

34. Being a mom is actually easier than I expected. So far. I guess it's cause I did so much babysitting, and being in charge of your own child is much easier than someone Else's.

35. Pet peeves: people breathing hard, loud chewing, slurping cereal, slow driving in the fast lane, people who hate their job, and take it out on you as the customer, people sleeping with socks on.

36. I love road trips.

37. In the color code test, I am very white.

38. I hate, and deal poorly with change.

39. I am not a planner at all. I love spontaneity. I'm really bad at keeping a calendar.

40. My dream job would be an interior designer, who designs t.v. and movie sets.

Sara, I'm proud to be the first to post a comment on this entry! I loved it! I learned so much about you, and I can't wait to learn more.

Do my hands match my face? I've always wondered that.

I love it! Sara we're a ton alike. haha, things I never knew, like I think it's SO WEIRD when people sleep with their socks on! And I think being a mom is so much easier than I expected. And the rain, I love rain! I don't understand why people don't like it. It's so pretty! I would have loved rain on my wedding day :) Sam does all of our ironing too. I'm so bad at it and I really don't like it. Oh and I also ALWAYS tell Sam when the sheets are clean and I always say that too "hey babe aren't you so excited to go to sleep tonight on clean sheets?!"
HA! I miss you!!!

Fun post! I have to say I'm SO glad to hear someone else say that the whole being a mom thing is easier than you thought. I feel the same way!! (Of course I also spent a few years nannying and you're right, taking care of other people's kids IS harder!)

First of all I love you, just the thought of you always brings a big smile to my face. Loved loved loved your list. so funny and just so you. I am sooo with you on the bathrooms and sheets, although I kind of want credit for every household chore I do, but especially those two too. love love the rain, and always wanted my first kiss to be in it. the hands thing cracked me up, b/c I remember you admiring Tiffany's, and that boy in arizona. funny. Anyway, this comment is way too long, but just wanted to say great post.

Can I just say that you are awesome!? I love that you know yourself so well. And I love all these facts about you, each and everyone! I was going to ask the same ? as Trav! You are so fun and I wish I could spend more time with you! Your fam and Treavor and Owen are so blessed! My fav bok of all time is To Kill A Mockingbird too! I love your post! I learned a few new things about you! Jess & I love the rain, but don't tell Chad - he hates it big time! I really hope my hands don't match my face cuz I have always hated my hands, but kinda like my face. Treavor & Owen are so blessed to have you in their lives, as we all are! Thanks for being so wonderful!

I echo Eliza, I just love you and you and this post make me very happy. I love that you love to chat and know things about people. I so relate to that and am always surprised to discover that a lot of people don't enjoy that.

I would very much like to test your mother's tuna sandwich. Could she add cheese to it? I identify with many of your comments - window open at night, rain - especially thunder and lightning - road trips, spontenaity, and many more - but not the one about toe nail polish! Thanks for those insights into your wonderful personality.

Sara, that was a great post, as usual! I like a lot of the same things you do. I have never put yogurt on my oatmeal before. That sounds good. Also, I want/need that recipe for sticky finger salad. YUMMY!! I love that Treavor is more romantic than you. That's funny. I think it's b/c he has so many sisters!! As far as that being a mom thing is easy - well, I wish I could agree! I thought it would be and I was wrong! Of course my first is about as high maintenance as they get and Owen is seriously the best baby. I love him! I with you on the cleaning needs to be acknowledged. My mother-in-law usually calls me and tells me EVERYTHING she has cleaned just for that reason!

Sara, I did not know many things about you! You are so positive, if I were to do a list it would probably have a lot of "debbie downer" things. I would add mopping the kitchen floor to my list of things to be acknowledged. Probably because I wait too long in between times that I mop it so I think it should be really obvious to tell.

Sara, I so relate to so many of on your list. I loved reading that..

Btw, I was thinking about you the other day while I was reading "The Seven Silly Eaters" to my kids. Have you heard of that? It is about a family named the Peters, and is so cute! If you don't already have it you need it.

20 and 39 are totally me too - along with some others like slow driving in the fast lane! This was SO fun to read!!

I love that you have wished you were African American. I haven't, but I did want a little African American child.
