What it brought

Summer brought
Visits from out of town cousins
A new job for Treavor
My first grey hair
Costco Pizza/churro/smoothie lunches for me and Owen
Onesies and bare legs for Lewis
Playing cars on the window seat every day
mini ice cream cones at Thanksgiving point
An attempt at potty training. We'll try again later
Learning to roll over
Lots of walks. Me, sporting a sling, pushing a stroller and holding the dog leash.

It brought
the courage to try the big slide at the red park for Owen (all by himself). He was so proud!
Pancakes for breakfast just about every day
Phil collins' take me home in the car
Lots of library books
Digging in Grams's sand box
Night time thunderstorms
Family reunions
O's first trip to the driving range
The farmer's market
A trip to the theater to see cars 2 for Owen and Grandma Kat
Tennis for Treavor with Travis

It brought
The adjustment of having two kids
Fun date nights
Exhaustion
Some bad tantrums
The movie tangled
Good naps
and
Happy, happy times!
I was in love with this summer.

I feel like this was the season that Owen kind of transformed from a sweet little toddler to a big boy, loving all big boy things. He is loving and gentle toward Lewis and asks with concern "what is baby lewie sad of? " when he hears him cry. His stutter is still present with a mind full of big ideas excited to express himself. He feeds Marley and cleans up his toys. His eyes light up when Treavor gets home from work and is a daddy's boy. He takes long naps, sleeps hard and makes me laugh every day.

Lewis is roly poly, squishy, gooey and delicious. he cuddles great and smiles huge. he takes cat naps and sleeps lightly. He loves the bath, blankies and bottles. He makes lots of noise sqweeking and squeeling thinking his voice is so very cool. He adores his big brother who he watches and smiles at constantly. He is a ball of sweetness that makes our mouth water.

I can't wait to see what the Fall brings.

Sleeping child

I love you!
I love you when you are awake.
In a moving, helping, feeding, running, cleaning, upstairs-downstairs, inside-outside, talking, playing, bathing, driving, reading kind of way. An in-motion kind of way.

when I look at you and you're asleep, I take a deep breath and for just a few seconds I do nothing but love you.
In that moment I do nothing but love you with all my heart.
and that is why, I think God gave us nap time.

Bear Lake 2011

This year at our family reunion the theme was New York. There were some great costumes, and I wish I would have gotten a picture of everyone. Here are the few that I got:

Our little family as Newsies
Layton and Lauren as the Statue of Liberty and a French immigrant
Haylie as a bum.
Scary right?
Her sign said "Obama aint the only one that wants change"
Grandma and Grandpa as Missionaries
They really served in New York
My mom and her sisters
Marilyn Monroe, a Jewish grandma and a tourist
aren't they cute?
Lindie
(My very favorite)
as Miss New York
This fabulous night was planned by Mally and I wish I would have gotten a picture of her, she was a beautiful ballerina.
Thanks for the fun night everybody!

Today

The boys are working hard at getting over a nasty hand foot and mouth bug. I'm working hard at not going stir crazy. Little sicknesses like these make me so grateful for my
families overall health.
Don't you hate watching your babies in pain? Lewie can barely swallow, drools all day, and it hurts him to eat. Sometimes it doesn't seem fair when fresh little bodies are being introduced to the pains of mortality.
