Two

This cute little fella is two months.
Two whole months!
How is it that the last two months went 10 times faster than the
two before that?
I already can't imagine life without him.
Good news - the colic is gone.
More good news - they're growing on each other.
At two months:
24 inches: 90th percentile
13 pounds 5 ounces: 90th percentile

kind of weird, mostly cool.

I was in a store the other day contemplating the purchase of a couple of end tables and called Treavor to get his opinion. I started the description of the tables by saying "one is square and one is round...kind of weird, but mostly cool" his response: "oh just like me".
Exactly like him.
That's why I love him.
Needless to say, I bought the end tables and I love them.
He is at the U2 concert right now (lucky!) and it's nights like these that make me realize how much I love hanging out with him at the end of the day. I count down the hours 'til he gets home and rely so much on our unwind time together.
When you have an extra long day, do you ever feel like you can end it yourself? I do. Today I took matters into my own hands and put Owen in the bath at 4:00. The day didn't end. He was in jammies and ready for bed before evening, let alone any sign of the sun going down.
It was a long day. Not a bad day...except for the fact that:
I lost my phone...like for good i'm pretty sure (sorry I didn't call you back jess)

Lewis had a Dr. appointment, had three shots in his sweet little thighs and as a result screamed most of the day.

Owen threw a monstrous, out of control tantrum.

and in an effort to download some pictures, I deleted weeks of precious photos of my boys. That made me cry. Lewis is at the stage where he changes every day, and it breaks my heart that the record is gone. (am I being super dramatic???)

Now that I think of it I guess this day was a little on the rotten side.
Tomorrow's a new one, and until then I'll be waiting for my kind of weird, mostly cool husband to get home and tell me how incredible the concert was.

currently

liking: that I got to go grocery shopping without kids yesterday. It was almost as invigorating as a trip to the spa.
disliking: laundry
hating: that my dog stinks so bad.
loving: the rain. Am I the only one?
wondering: when my next full night of sleep will be.
eating: dinosaur chicken nuggets.
watching: American Idol and Toy Story 3 (way too much) I tear up at the end no matter how much I watch it. "so long partner" - gets me every time!
listening: to Justin Bieber "baby" Owens little voice singing along in the back seat, might be the cutest thing ever.
wearing: a lot of sweats and a Jessica Simpson perfume sample that I love. I never buy perfume. I should probably do that.
playing: "climb rocking" with Owen and his finger puppets.
wishing: I had my smooth feet back. This pregnancy ruined them. weird right? Also... I wish I had those cute little mini reeses. I haven't tried them yet.
thanking: because Owen is out of his sad, sad funk that the birth of his brother put him in, and was weighing heavily on our little family.
reflecting: on the past three years in the young womens in my ward. I was released on Sunday and am already missing it. End of an era. You know how I do with change...not well.

laughing: at this commercial. It CRACKS me up!

Mother's day

I hope yours was fabulous!
Mine couldn't have been better.
Our morning began with Treavor saying "Owen, remember it's Mother's day?" Right away Owen gave me a big hug, and through his cute stutter said " I love you mom, thanks for all you do for me" Treav had prepd him the night before.

lately

  • Owen has an absolute obsessive, obsessed, obsession with his aunts. He talks about them daily and wishes he could be with them every second. They treat him like a king.
  • Treavor's sweet family threw me and lewis a baby shower a few weeks ago. Thank you so much everyone! The peters family knows how to party.

We spent an entire week in one of our very favorite places. I can't think of many combinations better than st. George and spring time...heaven! we went with Treavor's parents, my parents, and all my younger siblings. Owen was on cloud nine having all four grandparents there.

we played.
and we relaxed.
The girls.
(boys are not pictured because Landon wasn't there, and Layton was too busy making fun of us behind the camera)
  • We celebrated Easter. A tiny bit. It kind of just came and went, With no preparation of easter baskets, or nice new Sunday clothes on my part. We just threw a little hunt together last minute and ate way too much candy. I'll try to do better next year.

  • We had a visit with our angelic Great Grandma Ellertson
  • My cousin offered to watch Lewis to give me the chance to do anything I want, such a treat! I chose to take Owen out for some much needed one on one time. We went to McDonalds play place where he fell down and got a sad little "shiner", he still managed to have a great time. Thank you so much Rachael!
  • Lewis started to smile! Such a fun milestone. He graced my mom with a couple huge ones and lots of cooing on her early mothers day celebration.
