Click
Don't you love when you can see things click in your baby's little brain? I love it!! Owen has been surprising me a lot lately. This has been such a fun age, because I can see him thinking so hard and learning so much. It's crazy how kids just pick stuff up.
Every night when Owen is in the bath, and I drain the water. I say "bye bye water". The other night I reached down to pull the plug in the drain and before I said anything Owen started waving at the water and saying "bu bu bu bu".
The other day we were driving down the road next to a horse trailer. I started making horse noises and kept trying to show Owen the horses that were poking their faces through the holes. He looked at me confused, until he finally turned to look out his window, and got the biggest smile on his face! He was so excited to see them, and I was so excited to see it click. We were making horse noises for the rest of the drive.
Lately he unrolls the entire roll of toilet paper everyday (i let him, cause it gives me just enough time to make my bed). when he's all done he holds a wad of toilet paper up to his face and blows. I didn't teach him that, he just observed.
When we were reading a book one night, I read "I love your eyes and nose, fingers and toes" right when I said "toes" Owen reached down, grabbed his toes and looked up at me smiling. I don't remember teaching him where his toes are...I guess someone else has.
Owen was kicking a ball around the family room. Are you smarter than a fifth grater? was on the tv, and when the crowd started cheering, he clapped his hands as he continued to stare at his little blue ball and kick and kick. It was cute that he heard what was going on, while being so focused on his ball.
One night Treavor and Owen were playing peekaboo/hide and seek. He kept hiding in the same corner of the bathroom. He would crack up when Treavor would act startled at him peaking his head around the corner. Now when Treavor gets home from work, Owen waddles to that same little corner, eager to play.

I love it too to watch them figure something out for themselves and just the pure innocence and joy they exude. I bet that Owen might have thought the people clapping and cheering on the TV were cheering for him kicking the ball! I would if I was there! ;o) Love him and so glad he walked with me and let me hold him!
Awww! I love the babies. Owen is so dang cute. It is fun to see him growing and developing.
I love this post, you've described one of the best things in life so well. He's just beautiful, Sara. What a sweet mommy you are.

He is so cute! I don't know if you noticed, but Saturday at Gunnar's game when he was on my lap he kept clapping every time we did! It was so cute!!
They learn SO much so quickly don't they? What a little cutie. I am in love with his hair!!! Such a stud. It's good your putting all these things down so you don't forget! They grow way too fast.
