Grandma June

My Grandma June passed away a little over a week ago. We were able to attend the most beautiful funeral I've ever been to on Friday. I am so excited for her and missing her so badly at the same time. She was ready to go, and wanting to be with her husband again.
She was an amazing women with qualities that I will forever admire and will do my very best to emulate. I am grateful for the way that she raised my Father and the way that her life has made an impact (probably larger than I will ever know) on me and the person that I am. I am so grateful for my Grandma's powerful testimony, sincere interest in people, diverse knowledge, and love for life. She was simple and sweet, gentle and loving and HUMBLE in the true-est, deepest sense of the word. To me Humility means Grandma Bell, and Grandma Bell means humility.
My favorite things about Grandma were: the way she shook up and down when she laughed (with zero noise), The way her wedding ring was loose on her finger and twirled around, the way she had a unique and separate connection with each of her grandchildren, her simpleness (ie: she could pack to go away for a week in a small tote bag), how she ALWAYS had otter pops for her grand kids, her passion for music, her face when someone was telling her a story, and her distinct nod when it was over as she said "is that right?", the list could go on and on. But mostly her beauty. I love her beauty. She is a beautiful, beautiful women!
I love my Grandma so much and look forward to the day that I get to see her again. I have always and will always cherish my name Sara June, for all that it means.

My Grandma was amazed with Treavor's Puzzle skills. They enjoyed working on puzzles together, and she was always very complimentary on how fast he could put the pieces together. The last time I spoke to my Grandma (a couple days before she passed away) she asked if Treavor had worked on any puzzles lately. When we heard the sad news we were on a trip in Boston. We decided to buy a puzzle and do it in her honor. here's the finished product.

"I am so excited for her and missing her so badly at the same time." sums up perfectly how I feel. I agree that it was such a neat funeral, so her. That's so sweet about the puzzle.

That was such a sweet tribute to your grandmother. It is hard to let go of the ones we love but you have a great perspective about it. How neat to be named after someone so amazing!

June was so wonderful and I loved reading this about her. Grandma Brewer did that same laugh thing and you just reminded me that. I'm so sorry I couldn't make it to her funeral - I really, really wanted to be there and hear the talks. She was the most amazing mom and raised the most amazing family, who then raised the most amazing families, and so on.
