Life

Is Good.

Here's why:
  • We had a fun, spontaneous, much welcomed and way too quick visit from Landon and Nicole. I miss them like crazy, and don't really believe siblings should live far away from each other. Kinnie is older and sweet, and full of life! Andrew is mellow, cuddly and plain irresistible. Owen can't get enough of his cousins, and we're already waiting for their next visit.
  • We had a weekend of anniversary celebration. You know how I feel about date night, and I am 100% revamped, renewed, and re-energized!! Grandma took Owen for a whole 24 hours while Treavor and I enjoyed two movies, that's right 2 (in the theater)!! I don't usually like that, but my pregnant, non-moving body was quite content to sit in a theater with out a worry in the world and lots of food in my lap. We went to dinner, slept in took some tums and talked about our happy and blessed five years.
  • Spring is on it's way. I know it's wet and cold and snowy, but birds are chirping and the sun is shining, and the air is crisp instead of smoggy. That gives me hope.
  • Owie is thriving, and making me happy every day with his strong imagination and love for life.
He started a little music class with a neighbor. He was nervous about going, and cried a little when I dropped him off, but came home so proud of himself and feeling quite old. There's really nothing like watching your kids do something that makes them proud is there?

He loves music, asks to listen to music a lot and impresses me with all the words he knows. The other day I turned on a play list that I don't often listen to. When free fallin came on (a song he's heard just a handful of times), He asked "what's this song called about?" I said "it's about a girl" and he said "oh she loves horses".

He often says "Alexander and the terrible horrible no-good very bad day!" it's usually after something drops or breaks, or I tell him to stop doing something. I think to him it means Darn or shoot.

His latest obsessions are playing with "guys" (his small collection of action figures). reading library books, putting his boots on by himself, interrupting any and all conversations Treavor and I are having by saying "what are you talking about?" , tackling with his stuffed animals, and discovering what kind of limits he can push with his parents.

That picture of Kinnie, Owie and Andrew is darling. That's just good for the soul. I totally agree that siblings (especially if they have kids) should not live far away. Cousins just should grow up together. Your date night sounds so perfect, seeing a movie in a theatre is such a rare treat! Tell Owen not to worry about pushing the limits now, there will be plenty of opportunity for that everytime you're feeding his baby sis/brother :)
