Fabulous is the best way to describe our holiday. I feel like in the last week I have eaten enough food, been lazy enough and had enough fun that I won't have to do any of those three things til 2011. I'm grateful for the time we were able to spend together as our little family of three, Treavor's family, my family, and even extended family. Doesn't being a mom bring a whole new demention to Christmas? In a magical, fun, Santa's helper kind of way, but also a Spiritual, Grateful, appreciation for birth and life, and a little more perspective on Christ's love kind of way. I don't really know how to describe it, and actually can't even put my finger on it, but for some reason this Christmas has been like no other, and I attribute it to motherhood (Owen was born last year...but he was just three months old and I was kinda still in a daze I guess).
Here are some recent highlights,
Owen:
- The basketball hoop Santa brought him
- hanging out with cousins a lot
- Sliding down the mattresses at my parents house. Aunt Haylie and aunt Lindie put their sheet-less bed mattresses on my parents stair case and would send Kinnie and Owen sliding down the full length of the stairs. They did it day after day and watching their tiny little bodies flying down with the wind in their hair and huge smiles on their faces was priceless.
- Sleeping at Grandma and Grandpa Bell's house on Christmas eve
- Hanging out with cousin Bodie from Cleveland
- Playing basketball in the church gym
- Playing with the dog ornament. It spent little time on our tree and lot's of time wandering the house in Owen's hand
Sara:
- Spending cozy nights by out Christmas tree
- Bowling with my entire family
- Spending a fun day with Treavor's Dad and all his sisters. Just the seven of us.
- Singing carols while my Grandma played the piano, and my Grandpa played the trombone on Christmas eve.
- Making drapes for my kitchen. A big giant thanks to Kathryn who I couldn't have done it without.
- Spending New years eve at home, just Treavor and I. I felt like it was a party because my fingernails were painted gold, and I was drinking caffeine free diet coke out of a pretty goblet, but I got to be hanging out in my pajamas and be in bed by 12:20. Best of both worlds.
- Taking Owen sledding for his first time
Treavor:
- Owen asking to watch football! He opened the amour door where our tv is, said please in sign language then he said "ba ba" and climbed up on Treavor's lap. What more could a dad ask for?
- Going to the Vegas bowl with some members of his family
- Watching Owen open his presents
- Watching good movies
- Spending time with family
I hope everyone had a fabulous holiday!

This Christmas definitely was different sharing it with a little guy. Christmas will never be the same, it will be better! Bodie hasn't stopped saying "Owee!" since you guys left. I love it!
