haircut

Thanks to aunt Tara, Owen got his first haircut.
It was a little emotional for me, but he was really starting to look a little ragamuffin-ish.
His new cut makes him look much older.

Diaper Head

One of Owen's new favorite things, is looking at himself with a swim diaper on his head. When we're playing in his room, I put it on him, and then he crawls as fast as he can to pull himself up on the mirror and do this funny little fake laugh over and over again. Then I put it on my head and he thinks it's even funnier. He kind of reminds me of an employee at hot dog on a stick.

Irony

How come for the first time in my whole life, do I really, really want to go to a Michael Jackson concert?

Change

Every time I have to buy a new size of diapers or put a piece of clothing in the "too-small bin" I have to make an effort not to cry! Well lately I've had a couple of doozies! Owen got a big boy car seat, and we had to buy a gate for the top of our stairs, because he is moving so fast and constantly. He almost has 4 teeth, and all his clothes are 12 months. I just started crying and having a little anxiety the other night as I was rocking him. It's a little pathetic cause he's still a baby!! What am I going to do when he goes to kindergarten or Jr. High or on a mission or gets married?!?!?! I've got to figure something out before then, becasue it seems every day brings a new emotional reminder that he truly is growing constantly!!
On that note I really do LOVE the stage he is in. He's been so fun! He recently became very mature. I love that I can call him from the other room and he'll come crawling in. I love that he has a new fake, courtesy laugh, when he knows I'm trying to be funny. And I love that he crawls all over Treavor. I swear, wrestling is an innate, natural born thing for males.

I just got back from a girls trip on Saturday and it was so fun to come home to Owen's welcoming smile. It feels good to have someone love, miss and need you so much.

Here are a few recent pictures of the big boy:

Happy graduation Mally!

A day at the zoo with his buddy Tucker

When cousin Bodie was in town we went to See's. Owen was like a fat kid in a candy store...oh wait that's exactly what he was. Both the boys LOVED those suckers!

Cousins

These are two of my new favorite pictures.

Kinnie is SO gentle and kind toward Owen and he loves her!! She is going to be such a good big sister in a month. I love that she has such nurturing and tender motherly instincts at not even two years old. We love you Kinnie! Thanks for all the fun days, happy times and hugs you give Owen.

Lucky or Blessed?

Treavor has been absolutely obsessed with the new Palm Pre since it was announced in January. He follows palm on twitter, he reads a palm blog every day, he has designed an application for the phone, that palm pre owners will be able to purchase, he stays updated on the battle between the i phone and the palm and he knows every feature on it! I really wish there were words to describe the obsession! It keeps him up at night thinking about it. His mouth waters when he looks at the phone online. I guess I should mention that he is the first to admit that he's a "total geek". Well the phone just came out on Saturday, and the really, really sad part about the whole situation is that we can't afford it. It's a couple hundred bucks, and he knew it wasn't in our price range.
Well...there was a drawing to win a free Palm, and Treavor of course entered and he WON!!! Two people out of the thousands to enter were chosen, and your's truly was one of them.

Treavor says that he got the phone because he was living right, and was using so much self discipline to not purchase it when he knew it wasn't financially smart. I say that when someone is blessed for living right, it's not through a new cell phone, and that he's just so lucky. what do you say? Either way he's a pretty happy guy these days, and he's counting down the days until it's shipped.

Summer

Over the weekend, we planted some flower pots.

The end.
It was wonderfully uneventful!!

We have loved the summer so far! We spend lots and lots of time outside. Owen loves the park, walks, and even just sitting on our porch for long periods of time. I love summer as a mom! I keep thinking back to my last big, hot, swollen ankled, painful, sleepless nights, uncomfortable summer. I was working full time, and schooling full time. I remember walking up the four flights of many, many stairs to the musty call center to put on my headset and sale security systems!! I was surrounded by about forty men and ONE other female. I remember walking around campus and sitting in class, feeling my baby kick and wondering if it would be a boy or a girl, what the baby would be like and when the baby would come.
I also remember thinking about the next summer and how it would be so fun. I would have a nine month old. I would be a full time mom. I would be playing with a baby all day every day.
Well it's here, and it's even better than I imagined!! It's fabulous!!!

Yay for Summer!

Oh and one more thing:
These jammies made it through me and my five siblings. I love seeing Owen in them. They're super cozy, and even have a bum flap.
