Now that we're on to a new season...(which by the way is such a blessing in my life to live in a place where there are 4 seasons. I feel rejuvenated in a fresh way with the approach of each one) it seems as though summer flew by. A few more pictures of a very happy era in our own home with our two boys.

One night on the way home from visiting friends we got a flat tire.
Owen was ecstatic! He talked about every move treav made while taking the tire off and putting on the spare. He then called gram and told her that we had "such a great night cause we got a flat tire and we were just like a pit stop"

Big long naps
A half hearted attempt at potty training with no success.
The end of bottles for Lewis.
I took this picture as a piece of my heart broke, knowing it would be his last.
He loved them so much, but handled it really well.
Feeding the ducks
Gram and Grandpa invited the Grandkids over to sleep in the tent in the backyard. It may have been the highlight of the summer for Owen. Poor Kinnie got sick and the younger kids stayed home, so it just ended up being Owen, Andrew, Gram, Grandpa, Haylie and Lindie.
He loved every minute and told us all about setting up the tent, roasting marshmallows, having a scavenger hunt, taking a hike (at the park), telling stories and sleeping in the tent.
Here he is having a complete meltdown when we came to pick him up.

While Owen was away feeling big and independent on his camping trip, Lewis got to chat in bed with us for awhile. I always love that moment when I get some one on one time with Lewis and remember that he is old and unique and has thoughts and opinions of his very own. The boys are almost always such a pair, and I love seeing them separate every once in a while.

Low-key mornings

Jumping like pumas off of Gram's porch

Lewis could often be found wearing this winter beanie that he used as his "bipbaw memik" (football helmet). The boys played football in the basement just about every day and we have a hard football helmet that kept causing injuries. Soft winter hats were the perfect solution, and it made me really happy to watch two little munchkins run around the basement in underwear and hats, tackling each other.
When Lewis slept in his crib, Owen helped me tuck him in most nights. He is such a sweet, gentle big brother. This seems like such a long time ago, now that Lewis is a big boy in a big bed.
