Dear Walmart,
I hate your stinkin guts.
You make me vomit.
You're scum between my toes.
Love, Sara

Grocery shopping to feed two and a half stomachs for a simple week, should not take two hours. It just should not. And I don't care what kind of savings it entails.
I stood in line for over forty minutes! FORTY!! At nap time.
I can't help but feel a little offended by the cute little couponer who took those ENTIRE forty minutes ahead of me.
It's ok that she had a lot of coupons and spends her entire days searching for deals and dissecting news papers. But maybe she could have turned around and apologized for her loooong ring up ordeal. or maybe she could have wiped the smirk off her face. Maybe she could have stopped with the gitty giggling. Maybe she could have NOT gone on and on to the cashier about how it's so worth it, and she's a stay at home mom, so she has the time to do it, and how she teaches classes on it. Maybe she could have NOT waved another cashier over from his station FIVE times because her thirteen jars of mayonnaise weren't ringing up with the 59 cent mark down. Maybe she could have sped up her decision making on which four candy bars to get when Walmart actually OWED HER!! Maybe she could have forgone writing her number down and telling the cashier to call her if she'd like to learn how to save.
Oh and maybe when it was my turn to ring up, and Owen was having a total melt down and flailing about in my arms, instead of laughing at him, the cashier could have said "sorry for the wait".
I have to say I handed my debit card over to pay my HEAFTY bill with a little bit of pride today.
I'm going to Albertsons next week (not because I can afford, but because I might go mental).
* My dislike is not toward people who like a good deal at the store. It is toward people who are inconsiderate.
Maybe I could have a better attitude...

Oh my gosh Sara you are hilarious! That happened to me one time & I had a hard time not hating that person also. They need to have special lines for people with coupons because they do take forever!!
AMEN, SISTAH!!!! I hear you loud and clear! I always save at least $20 when I go there, but I cannot bring myself to do it. I hate it. I detest it. It IS scum beneath my feet. Oh, I have so been there. SO done that. And yet, every once in awhile i find myself being sucked back in to it's sticky tentacles.
I love this post!!
Attitude, Shmattitude!
HAHA! you are too funny! I wish i could save like that!! do you go to 13th south walmart? If so.. thats your problem! that wal mart is insane! I have seen ur mom there some days even ;)
But i do think the lady could have said sorry to you for the inconvenience!
Sara you should be proud of your honesty! I avoid Walmart at all costs and we don't have a Super Walmart! I can't even imagine doing grocery shopping there! I won't get into details (cuz I'll just get angry ;o) ) but my last trip to Walmart was similar. I also waited about 40 minutes in line with Jack wiggin' out for one thing.... any hoo don't get me started but it comes down to being inconsiderate not thrifty!! Albertson's will be glad to have you!!! xo
Oh sara, wow wow wow. I would have lost it. 40 minutes!!!! are you kidding me? wow, that is unbelievable. my mouth kept dropping with the list of what she did, the candybars, the number, so unbelievable, its almost funny, your post was enraging me and cracking me up at the same time.
Seriously AMEN!! I hate to go through coupons for that exact reason - I am embarrassed for myself to ask for five cents off cereal. I agree with Tiff, they need a separate line for those coupon crazies. I do have to say, the wal-mart by my house has the best checker - his name is David (he's not cute at all) but he is SO fast, and he unloads and loads my cart for me every time, no matter how many people are in line behind me. He is especially helpful with my kids - and knows to ask before handing the kids candy that I am buying. I look for him every time I go, because he's that good. Try my wal-mart next time!
Craziness! I can't believe that lady and the worker! I am soooo sorry you had to deal with that. I hate standing in line when it is even moving along somewhat quickly, I get so flustered when the person in front of me is taking their time!
oh my gosh Sara I literally went through the same dang thing at wal-mart not two weeks ago! This dang lady infront of me had a portfolio of coupons and was going page by page searching as 4 people we behind her waiting! Except i left the line and went to another line.. and i didn't have an almost one year old having a melt down. And for that, I am sorry. You totally had it worse than me.
So sorry that you had to go through that. American Fork Wal-Mart is the worst. I've always felt that they were over crowded and understocked not to mention the MANY times I've stood in line for an insane amount of times including when Hannah was sick with a double ear infection (I was only standing there to get my two dollars that the self-checkout didn't give me back.) The lady behind me even offered to pay me so I could leave.
Either way, most likely the lady was not only doing coupons but also price matching too and its bad enough when it's just one but put them both together and it makes a bad situation worse. My suggestion to you should you ever find the need to go to Wal-Mart again (not that I blame you for not wanting to go there) is to go to the Cedar Hills Wal-Mart accross from Lone Peak High School. Every time I go there, there's not too many people (actually room to breathe) and more often than not there are checkers standing around waiting to help people.
Sorry you had to deal with that especially during nap time. If it had been me I would have called to talk to the store manager if for no other reason than just to yell at someone, but you are a much better person than I. :)
Wow, you are very funny. I have to admit I am a tiny bit impressed with that lady for the fact that Wal-mart actually owed her! However, I totally agree that that is EXTREMELY obnoxious of her to be so totally inconsiderate and the worker, sheesh. You definitely get what you pay for at Wal-mart. I'm sorry you had to go through all of that, but I'm happy we got to read a great post about it :)
Hey- nice Lil' Rascals quote!! Walmart is the devil- it tempts you with it's low prices but you sure pay the price waiting in line. I avoid walmart at all costs! I'm excited to see what our Lehi albertsons is going to change to soon!
Sara, I just came across your blog and I love it! I totally hear you on the Wal-Mart thing. I HATE shopping at Wal-Mart for so many different reasons. I try to go there because it's cheap, but sometimes it just doesn't seem worth it to me. I love Albertson's and Harmon's because they have amazing customer service, good produce, and clean/organized stores, unlike Wal-Mart! Too bad they cost more. I loved your post. Better luck next time!

Oh man seriously. I would have been ballistic. Are you kidding me!? ONE person took 40 minutes to check out??? I would have lost it. I would have had the strong urge to slap her when she took extra time deciding on a candy bar. Wow. Even though I know I need a better attitude, I cannot stand it when people are so inconsiderate. What a horrible experience. I would definitely write a letter to Walmart and the manager of that store. The checker should have done something and at the very LEAST apologized.
