Can't wait

I haven't been this excited for a movie in a long time (if ever). I loved this book as a child, and the movie looks simply amazing!

My advice to you

Treavor got his tonsils out last week. He's pretty miserable, but doing much better than he expected. All the nurses and friends who had gone through it before, just couldn't say enough bad about the pain that's involved in the recovery. He was preparing for the worst experience of his life. The day after the tonsillectomy, Owen and I left Treavor with his wonderful Mom, for babysitting, and took off to my annual Bear Lake family reunion.

In Bear Lake, we missed Treavor like crazy, and basically pulled two all-nighters because of Owen's disorientation, confusion and need for his very own crib. But we still managed to have a fabulous time. I love that place. I love being crammed into a tiny condo with my whole family and having my Grandparents and all my cousins near.

We're home now, Owen and I are cherishing every second of sleep we get, and doing our best to keep Treavor out of pain. Although I feel so super bad for him. I've kind of enjoyed myself. He has to take two whole weeks off of work (Dr.s orders!), We, oops I mean he, can only eat stuff like Ice cream, popsicles, and Mashed potatoes from Kentucky Fried Chicken ( which I LOVE and only feel like I can go there if I'm pregnant) and We, I mean he just relaxes, naps and watches movies all day. my advice to you, is if you want some really low key, relaxing, hang out time with your husband...don't discourage him from getting his tonsils out.
Poor Treav.

Over the weekend I....

Discovered that I had 1 mouse in my house!! It tore a hole through a baggy we had on the counter and gnawed it's gross little teeth around a whole pancake that was inside. SICK! It made me physically ill. Treavor set a trap. we caught it. I'm not sure what gave that beady eyed long tailed, ugly, gray, disgusting creature the impression that it's welcome in my home. Bleached the entire kitchen.

Took Marley on 2 walks.

Went to lunch, Table for 3.

Did 4 loads of laundry

Ran 5 and a half miles on the treadmill.

Went to the 6th Harry Potter movie. Thank you Adam and Tristen for the tickets!

Heard how much fun I missed out on at girls camp from 7 young women. ( I just didn't dare leave my baby for five whole days)

Read 8 chapters of the Kite Runner.

Slept in until 9 o'clock, cause Owen did too!

Painted all 10 of my toes (pink).

Should have accomplished about 11 things on my to-do list. Didn't. Maybe next week.

Thought a lot about, but didn't get to see my 12 day old nephew Andrew.

Ate 13 scoops of mint cookie crunch ice cream...give or take a scoop or two.

Vacuumed up 14 thousand ants. They somehow have the same impression as the mouse.

Spent approximately 15 minutes on Owen's scrapbook.

Cleaned up 16 (+) messes, created by this guy:

Did I make you want to go read the Very Hungry Caterpillar?

As If

they don't look enough alike already, Owen has been wearing Treav's dodger's hat.

I'm not quite sure what genes (if any) of mine he received.
I love having a little Treavor clone.

weekend

We had a fabulous 4th of July weekend! It was extremely low key and relaxing, with every member of my family at my parents house. The weather was spectacular, the food was delicious, the fireworks were beautiful, and the company was perfect! I have always loved the 4th, but I think it gets better every year. A combination of the smell, sound, taste and feel in the air is totally euphoric to me, and I'm already looking forward to next year.

I hope everyone had a happy holiday!!!

haircut

Thanks to aunt Tara, Owen got his first haircut.
It was a little emotional for me, but he was really starting to look a little ragamuffin-ish.
His new cut makes him look much older.

Diaper Head

One of Owen's new favorite things, is looking at himself with a swim diaper on his head. When we're playing in his room, I put it on him, and then he crawls as fast as he can to pull himself up on the mirror and do this funny little fake laugh over and over again. Then I put it on my head and he thinks it's even funnier. He kind of reminds me of an employee at hot dog on a stick.
