Tonight I kissed the Owie boy for the last time as a four year old and had a mini melt down. My first baby turns five tomorrow. I went to check on him like every other night. There he was warm and soft. He was on the top bunk making him seem older than ever. Tonight he had a soccer orientation and got a new jersey for his first season. His team is blue and his number is 10. He was thrilled about both. He had somehow snuck that blue number 10 jersey into bed and put it over his Jammie shirt after he had been tucked in. I am tired from balloons and streamers and wrapping and shopping and planning. But mostly I am so unbelievably, overwhelmingly, indescribably, incredibly grateful for that five year old boy in the blue jersey on the top bunk who is now in happy dream land. He blesses my life daily. So I tied a blue balloon to his bed, gave him lots more kisses and finished my mini melt down.

Just so beautifully said, Sara. And now I'll have my mini melt down too. ;) My big boy turned 7 yesterday and I too check on him on the top bunk of his bunk bed. They'll always be our babies even if they keep getting bigger! Happy birthday sweet Owen!! Hugs and kisses to you all!! xoxoxo
