You know how life gets a little blah sometimes? That's kind of what it's been lately. Thank heavens nothing significantly sad or life-changing to report. Mostly just blah. I won't tell you about it, because who wants to hear about
- Lewie's double ear infections
- Owen's beyond description tantrums
- Lewie's allergic reaction to penicillin and the hives all over his body
- Me and my boys having that awful stomach bug, and spending Thanksgiving day in bed without eating a bite.
- Locking my 3 year old in his room for bed time, which I swore I would never do. It had to be done. heart breaking.
- My zitty face.
- blue gatorade throw up stain on the front room rug.
- pharmacy after pharmacy filling prescriptions, where there has GOT to be some sort of substance behind the counter that causes the workers to move in slow motion and look at you with glazed over eyes while your sick kids are crying in the cart.
- Lewie's diaper rash that I can not keep up with and is putting him in excruciating pain.
- cooped up freezing cold days (we got a long road ahead)
- and really lame dinners.
On the bright side:
- We got to go to Temple square with Treavor's parents.
- Our halls are decked. The Christmas tree and lights are making all of us happy
- My mom made me a delicious Thanksgiving dinner 3 days late, when I was feeling better. (thank goodness!)
- Owen had fun making a Christmas Tree. Thanks Julie, for the good idea.

So so sorry Sara! I can totally relate to you- ear infections, tantrums, diaper rash. What a bummer! Emma had it awful too- I ended up making my own 3 part concoction on her sweet cheeks. Your mom is THE best for making you a belated dinner. Crossing my fingers for healthy ears, bums, and a sweet Christmas for you! We miss you guys!
I'm so sorry... We had that exact same week of sickness and I have the same feeling about the pharmacys :(( how sweet of your mom to make it late so you could enjoy it! Your kids are too cute! Glad you are all feelin better!
Reality can be beast can it. Good for you for keeping the positive close to the forefront. It's the only way to stay afloat sometimes especially during tantrums.
wow im sorry. the days get long when you are dealing with all this kind of stuff... sounds like its time to make another dumb looking crafty christmas tree and stay up till 4 am? or wait maybe not, ill let you get your sleep for now.
So sad that you and your boys have been sick! Owen looks so grown up in those pictures!!
YUCK!!! So sorry to hear about all that. Sounds like your family has been hit hard with sickness lately! It's hard to deal with anyway, but its much worse on a holiday. Glad you got to enjoy the lights and got a Thanksgiving dinner late. Mom's are the greatest!
Oh man, sara that sounds rough. I have been in the biggest funk lately too and am just starting to come out. Call me and we'll get through it together. ; ) Your description of the pharmacy is SOOOOOO true and so funny and yet so not when your experiencing it.
Try A+D ointment for his diaper! Hope that at least helps one of the many sad things :( Let me know when you're feeling up for it we could make a road trip out and visit :)
I love your posts. You're so true to life and that's what everyone wants to hear about!!! I glad it's a new year and everyone is feeling better!!
Yes, we all have those days. Hoping this new year is much brighter. xo
This post cracks me up--you speak the truth, and portray the real experiences of life.
