30 & 3

It was a big birthday weekend with Treavor turning 30 on the 1oth and Owen turning 3 on the 11th. We had a fun time celebrating two of the lives that mean the most to me. It was a little overwhelming to become the wife of a 30 year old and the mother of a three year old all in one weekend.

The festivities began with a wonderful dinner out with Treav's parents.

The restaurant provided a birthday saddle and "yee-ha"
One of the many things I love (and can't relate to) about Treav...he does not get embarrassed!

On Saturday Treavor chose to spend the day lounging, playing and watching the BYU game at his parent's house. He said his birthday would have been perfect if they would have won.

Owen got to open his present from Grandma Kat and Grandpa Dennis a day early.
Happy as a clam!

The next day was spent partying with my family. I asked Owen what he would like for his birthday dinner. His response: "pancakes and cupcakes" That's exactly what he got.
He ripped into his presents the second the party guests walked in the door.

What a fun age he's at. We knew we would score on any gift we gave him if it had anything to do with cars. He got a remote control car, lots of little cars, the movie Cars and a cars activity book. He was thrilled.

I think he felt pretty special blowing out the candles. When we got to his name in the song, he silently mouthed "Owen" as we sang. He knew it was all about him.

After the family left, the toys were played with, the new movie was watched, the balloons were deflating and the birthday boy was tucked in a couple grateful tears were shed thinking about the last three lovely years with my sweet Owie.

Happy birthday to the September boys.
September fits both of them so well. It has the relaxed, mellowness of summer but has the crisp freshness of fall on the brink. It is full of Sunshine, life, football, and exciting newness just like Treavor and Owen.
