The entire Peters clan (except for Telisa and Clay who we missed a lot) went down to st. George for Thanksgiving.
It was nice to get a way for the weekend. We went to Zion national park, had a delicious feast and played hard with cousins.

I love watching my kids do things they love. And our hike was one of those times with Owen.
He was completely in his element. He loved using Grandpas walking stick. He hiked the whole trail without slowing down. He never complained and didn't ask for a single thing. He scaled that entire red rock trail with grace and ease. it came so naturally to him, to know where to put his foot and how to maneuver, even on kind of tricky parts.
At one point in our big long hike. Lewis and I were behind the group. He was hungry and tired and his little legs had been working so hard to climb the mountain. We sat down and took a little break. we looked up above us and we were surrounded by red rock that towered waaaaaaay above us in every direction. I said to him "aren't we so blessed that Jesus created this beautiful earth for us to enjoy" we talked about the massive rocks and how beautiful they were. we talked about the powdery sand that was beneath our shoes and how soft it was. We talked about the crisp air and how good it felt. We talked about the way the waterfalls sounded that we had passed and how relaxing it was. That sweet conversation gave us just the boost we needed to make it to the top. We were the last in our group and he excitedly told Treavor that hes "tho happy Jethuth created thith for uth".
