but, Owen has managed to thoroughly enjoy our backyard this summer! Not a day goes by that he doesn't go to the bathroom cupboard and return with a swim diaper for me to put on him. I'm gonna miss the days of sitting on the steps observing his endless imagination. I love watching him lay down on his tummy and splash like crazy, Cause in his mind he's doing exactly what he sees the big kids do at the big pool.

Helping Grandpa Peters fix the sprinklers.

I've loved this summer so much. Over the last 3 months Owen went from baby to boy. He's as busy as ever and makes my life happy. Here are some updates on him:
No more bottle. It made me sad, but had to be done. We'll hold off on the binki for a while.
He loves trucks. He knows and recognizes the difference between all different kinds. When we're driving he'll sporadically yell out "big rig" or "digger" or "dump truck" or "fork lift".
He loves to sing at night. He'll ask for "tempo", "shine", "beap" or "Gog" ( I Love to see the Temple, I am like a Star Shining Brightly, Sun Beam, and I am a Child of God)
We went to a BYU scrimmage a week ago, and ever since he has been asking for a helmet. We have a little toy helmet that he has been so frustrated doesn't fit him. he'll balance the teeny tiny thing on his head, and gets sad when it falls off. I told him maybe he'll get his own helmet for his birthday. Now he asks for it every morning when he wakes up (must be dreaming about it) and through out the day. "Owie, hemet, white, pease" He has to wait a whole two weeks, and we somehow have to find a white helmet. Any ideas?

I love your post because you always teach us to enjoy the simple things in life! Watching Owen play is pure joy!
ditto to Kathryn, you are so good at soaking in the little but important moments. Owen is a doll, seriously what a beautiful darling boy. I love what a boy he is, and that he is able to imagine big adventures in that teeny little pool. As far as the helmet, before you even asked for ideas, I thought of the D.I. I see them there all the time. Obviously it might be hard to find his size, but I think I've even seen little ones before too. Anyway, good luck.
Zach has a white helmet is in not using right now you are welcome to use, but it does have to go back to the football league when his season is over.
Dave asked for a helmet for Christmas at the exact same age as Owen! "Santa" had a very hard time finding one that would fit him. They finally just got him a used one that was too big for him but he LOVED it anyway!
Owen is so so so cute! And I cannot believe how big he is getting!!
Wow, he has even grwon a ton since I left and its only been 6 weekd! what a big boy. I love the one he is hugging Marley. They are the cutest buddies, I love them. I miss you guys so much.
He is such a beautiful boy! I was admiring his gorgeous blonde curls in church yesterday.... made me jealous;)
he is ALL boy, i love it!!! you are such a fun mom, you inspire me to be better! bodie asks for the same songs at night! love it. i am only a little sad to see summer leave (not a fan of the humidity) but excited to take bodie sledding! i am sure owen will love that too. clay wants to tie a sled to titus. . . yikes.
I love that Owen is waking up asking for a helmet. I can picture him in one now and it looks really really cute, you have to find one! Would Target ever have something like that? Oh man I wish we could fly out for his birthday!
What a big boy he's turning into!! He's so smart he knows all the names of those trucks. I don't even think Jordan knows all those yet! Good luck finding a helmet for him. Jordan's been wanting one too so you'll have to let me know if you get one for Owen!
Tai Pan has helmets. Even in BYU and Utah. Connie just got one for Redd. They even come with a uniform. I think they are around $30-$40. They go quickly though, so check it out soon.
Owen just could not be cuter. I adore that picture of Treavor and Owen intently working on popsicles sitting in front of the fence. That's just hard to beat, the photo and the activity. You guys are the best. We really need to get together.
